Behind Stained Glass Series

In this series of drawings, Sandrine experiments with Dale Chihuly and stained glass inspired transparencies to emphasize women's ability to escape their private spaces. Although many of the figures have introspective expressions and are partially or completely hidden behind colourful organic barriers, they are not distant from the external world. At the same time, they reveal their identities and moods in a more natural way, that is, through biological, flower and shell patterns, rather than shielding their bodies with thick layers of clothing. Furthermore, many of them are in peaceful states of mind and express a need for adventure. They are open to taking a leap of faith and to crossing the glass shapes.
